A Labor Day Weekend in Lake Tahoe

Thursday, October 3, 2019

I had one of the best labor days around, and hardly any pictures to prove it.

A group of about 26 of us went to Tahoe for the long weekend and had the best of times.

On Friday we drove up in waves. The group I left in left around noon and we hit up the Sacramento Cafe Rio en route to Tahoe. When you are driving through Sacramento, you never miss the chance to go to the closest Cafe Rio to the Bay.

We rented 2 cabins, and here is a bad picture of the one I stayed in:
It was very nice on this inside, in a great location, and had everything we could have wanted aka, a hot tub. We also liked it because everyone got to sleep on a bed, unlike in cabin #2 which was filled past capacity.

Since I was in the early crew we had time to go out Friday night. We went down to the beach where they were having a live band perform.
We enjoyed the blue grass band and walked around for a little bit before heading back to the cabin to wait for everyone else to arrive-which meant we stayed up till 2am.  We also made muddy buddies because #priorities.

On Saturday we had a pancake breakfast, and then went on hike.

We met this dog up there, and he felt like getting in on the picture.

We spent the rest of the day at the beach. We then went back to cabin #1 for dinner, and then walked down to town to get some ice cream. We went right as they were closing, and the girls working were so desperate to get us out of there, they ended up giving the last five of us our ice cream for free. Can't complain about that.  We then went home and watched Blue Planet and played Mario Kart.

The next day we went to church, did a nature walk behind our cabin, went to another beach, made another dinner, went star gazing, and ended the night in the hot tub.

This beach was great, because there were rocks to swim out to and jump off of.

Monday morning, some of us did a lake side run, and then we packed up, and drove home.

Might not sound like much, but we all had a great time and it was a perfect weekend.
