One of my most anticipated trips this year was Hawaii. One night in June some friends mentioned wanting to go to Hawaii, and we all said we would go. And then before you knew it, we bought some tickets and anxiously waited for October to roll around.
The first thing we did when we landed was get lunch, and lunch was good.
We then hiked Diamond Head Crater.

It was a great way to start out trip after a 5 hour flight.
Then we hit up Leonard's Bakery for some malasadas
They were very very good.
We then went to our Air B&B, hung out on the beach, went to a farmers market for dinner, and ended the night by watching Jurassic Park-which themes song was sung whenever we were driving around the island and would see a majestic scene that looked like it could be from the movie.
The next day we went on a dolphin/turtle/snorkeling tour.
It was fun to ride on a boat and see the island from the ocean. And let me tell ya, swimming in a warm ocean is a game changer. I may never get in Northern California water again.
We swam near dolphins, with turtles and enjoyed our morning on the boat.
We then headed for the north shore.
It was time for an afternoon snack
We spent the rest of the day at the beach, playing in and being absolutely destroyed by the huge waves.
We ended the night by watching Jurassic Park 2. Absolutely do not recommend that movie.
The next morning we enjoyed a delicious passionfruit pancake breakfast.
We spent the day at the beach and snorkeling with all sorts of tropical fish, and ended it by going then to a luau.

Part of the ceremony included them digging up the roasted pig from a pit. The pork was delicious, and we ate like we might never eat again.
The luau was a fun time, where everyone was deemed "party cousins". We watched a lot of dances, and the true show stopper was the fire guy.
We of course ended the night with another Jurassic Park movie, but we decided to skip Jurassic Park 3 and just go straight to Jurassic World. We were happier for it.
On our last morning we relaxed on the beach.
This was the beach across from our house and it was amazing. The softest sand I have ever felt.
Before our flight, we got one last meal:
Macadamia nut pancakes. Aka the best pancakes of my life. (and also a delicious omelet)
It was a great long weekend trip, but we all decided we could have spent a few more days there. So if anyone is looking for someone to go to Hawaii with, I make for an excellent travel companion.
