I swear May just went by in a blink of an eye. And here is how I spent part of it:
One early Saturday morning, we drove down to Monterrey for a ward kayaking trip.
Since we were already in down south a bit, a group of us decided to pop on over to Carmel. And let me tell you, it is just one of the quaintest of towns.

We enjoyed going into all of the shops and trying all of the samples, which included mustards, chocolates, caramel spreads, olive oils, and all the skin care products in Lush.

The next weekend, Carly came into town (a friend that moved to Utah about a year ago). We packed our Saturday full of activities. We played softball in the morning, got lunch in downtown Palo Alto, drove down to Santa Cruz to play some beach volleyball and football, hung out on the boardwalk, went to my personal favorite Mexican restaurant for dinner, and then ended the day with a movie back home. It was just one of the best days.

One Friday night, some of us decided to go to Texas Roadhouse for one of our special, "Chain Restaurant Friday" or as some call it, "middle class fancy" dinners. This is quite the commitment because we have to drive to the East Bay to enjoy such a dinner. Unfortunately we had to wait an hour and a half to get seated, and not even all at the same table. Luckily we were able to eat about 4 baskets of rolls while we were waiting. We didn't get back home until 10pm and we decided that was probably the first and last time we go to TR for Chain Restaurant Friday.
Also in May Brittany, Shannon, and I all took a tennis class from Palo Alto Parks and Rec. It was twice a week, and we all really enjoyed it. Brittany and I firmly believe that we were John (our instructors) favorite students. Who knows how much my skills actually improved, but it was a fun mix up to my week.
