October is a time where Fall is in full swing. The temperature drops, leaves change colors, and there is pumpkin spice everywhere.
But not in the Bay.
The weather has been in the high 70's and 80's and I haven't seen any red or yellow trees. Turns out October still feels like summer, but don't worry, we still have pumpkin spice flavored everything. So if everyone in Utah can stop posting pictures of them in their cute fall clothes in the colorful mountains and canyons, that would be appreciated.
An Imagine Dragons concert. I don' t have any pictures from it, but I promise I was there along with about half of the ward. They were great live and we had a great time.
Olivia's birthday! We celebrated by getting brunch at Alice's restaurant. We went in July, and we liked it so much we came back again. It has delicious food, but its beautiful mountain location definitely helps with its appeal.
Tiffany got Olivia this lovely cat balloon to help celebrate and it came to breakfast with us. Our waitress even gifted Olivia a slice of cake and ice cream for the occasion-something I am sure they don't do for everyone but was a byproduct of Olivia's lovely, warm, friendly personality.
That evening our ward threw a fall carnival party. Tiffany, Caroline (a fellow roommate), and I were in charge of the balloon dart booth, and a last second kissing booth. You may be relieved or disappointed to learn that the kissing booth mostly consisted of us handing out Hershey's kisses.
Later that same night we celebrated Olivia again with a vanilla raspberry cake. I can claim none of the credit here, that cake was all Tiffany.
You may have heard about the crazy fires that have been happening in Northern California. The fires are a few hours away from us, but there were a few days where outside smelled like fire, and the air was filled with smoke and ash.
This picture does it no justice, but the morning after the fire started, the sunrise was blood red all across the horizon.
Literally everyone else went the creepy, gory, scary, route. The whole cute, festive Halloween path obviously wasn't on anyone else's mind.
This past weekend a group of about 16 of us went to "The Haunt" at Great America-which is an amusement park. It's pretty much the equivalent of "Frightmares" at Lagoon. There were haunted houses, haunted alley ways, and of course the rides. On our last ride of the night we were able to convince the teenage ride operators to let us stay on and ride again because there was no one waiting to take our seats. We stayed until they kicked us out at 1am.
Then the next day, a group of us ran a Rugged Maniac. Which was a 5k mud obstacle race. Many of the obstacles had you jumping into, or crawling through mud.
